1 Payload 2015 Class 9 By Jeff Dunker 5/19/2019 2014 Beginner Payload

2 Project 2 Logic Probe Bread Board
470 (if 9V battery used) Why? PN2222a C The probes for the circuit are in blue. The ground connection below is left off many schematics assuming that everyone knows that the circuit must have a common ground. Why? B E E B C Long pin The datasheet has the pin-out and many other important pieces of information on our part. Flat side I made a probe out of a popsicle stick, heat sink tubing And some solid core and stranded wire Solid core for tip Stranded for flexibility 5/19/2019 2014 Beginner Payload

3 Project 2 part list beginners
1 100K Resistor Resistor 2 2N2222 transistors 1 LED Exercise: Everyone figure out what are the colors for the resistor above. We’ll then share the answers Now get the needed parts, note I have put some parts that may look like the correct one, but aren’t. 5/19/2019 2014 Beginner Payload

4 Remember how we laid out the bread board for project 1
Now it is your turn to do your own. Don’t waste time if you don’t know ask me questions. The guidelines I gave you last still apply and yes we have a couple new and different parts The main difference is we have three active components and all must be connected up in the proper order/direction 5/19/2019 2014 Beginner Payload

5 How to test Project 2 This is a logic probe
We want it to indicate a High RED LED On (logic 1’s) for a positive voltage applied to the input and a Low Off for (logic 0’s) for a for a ground level signal applied to the input. HINT: +9v is High and Ground is low 5/19/2019 2014 Beginner Payload

6 Soldering up our circuit
Follow the guidelines I gave you last time for soldering they still apply and yes we have a couple new and different parts The main difference is we have three active components and all must be connected up in the proper order/direction Now it is your turn to do your own. Don’t waste time if you don’t know ask me questions. 5/19/2019 2014 Beginner Payload

7 Solder Project 2 You have the rest of the class to solder them up
Please plan to have more than one project per proto board as they are in short supply Plus you will find that it can actauly help future projects 5/19/2019 2014 Beginner Payload
