We have state, national, and international tournaments, as well as invitationals
This club will help you get a foothold on speaking effectively and debating persuasively

4. What can we do for you? Areas of focus:
Parliamentary debate (or parli): debate of general knowledge and on the spot critical thinking
Structure revolves around the above skills: Topic announced, 20 minutes to prepare, 38 minutes of solid debating, 19 minutes for each side
2 versus 2
Topics range from foreign policy to economic stimulus
Policy debate: Debate using vast amounts of evidence and arcane speaking speeds
Structure: Months to prepare, 64 minutes of solid debating and 8 minutes total of in-round prep

5. Parliamentary debate
Two sides randomly assigned: Affirmative and Negation (sometimes Proposition and Opposition)
Resolution given in the form of a statement
Affirmative affirms the statement; upholds it
Negation denies the statement; strikes it down
Whichever side does this better wins the debate
Parli requires knowledge of world events and the ability to analyze them
