Detroit has changed from the 1800s to the 1970s to the present day. These changes took place because many of the immigrants have taken jobs in local service-oriented business including shops and restaurants according to the article. Also, according to the article, city officials have put a lot of money into developing Detroit over the past 15 years. They have used this money to open Latino-themed shops and restaurants. In addition, the article tells us that the Latino population has risen significantly and they are improving the communities. Because of the money being put into the community and the number of immigrants coming in and doing their part, Detroit is really changing. ME
