Standards/Guideline Examples And here’s an example of a standard that we recently released Tie back to what Mike said about the increased need for standards for in the world of oral chemotherapy

9 The Development Process
Invite Co-Chairs and panelists to serve on the panel Develop Protocol Systematic Review conducted A critical assessment and evaluation of all research studies that address a particular clinical or process issue; an organized method of locating, assembling, and evaluating a body of literature on a particular topic using a set of specific criteria. Consensus Methodology Have multidisciplinary panel; Protocol helps with scope creep. Defines questions going to be asked, inclusion/exclusion criteria, populations, intervention, etc. Systematic review can be large or small depending on the topic. Try to get the highest quality evidence-meta-anayses, RCTs, etc. Sometimes need case studies. The more narrow the search the better. First do title search, abstract search, full text. Extract data into tables Rate the evidence and recommendations: three core domains of 1) quality appraisal, 2) rating the strength of the evidence, and 3) rating the strength of standards.
