Bucky the Badger Bucky the Badger is the mascot for the University of Wisconsin-Madison football team Every time Wisconsin scores, Bucky the Badger has to do pushups for every point that is on the scoreboard Wisconsin scores a touchdown and an extra point Bucky does 7 pushups Then they score a field goal. Wisconsin’s score goes from 7 to 10 so Bucky does 10 MORE pushups Then they score another touchdown and extra point. Wisconsin’s score goes from 10 to 17 and Bucky does 17 MORE pushups. Bucky has now done 34 pushups total, so far…

Classwork Work together in your groups on Tasks 2 and 3
A calculator is not necessary to complete these tasks Use approximation strategies to find a good ESTIMATE (does not have to be exact)

Homework Remember!! Give your parent letter to your parents
Have them fill it out and return to me by Friday!! Model the following situation with mathematics: Let x denote the number of touchdowns Wisconsin scored in a game. Assuming the Wisconsin football team only scores touchdowns, write an algebraic expression to represent the total number of pushups Bucky must do in a game in which x touchdowns are scored.
