8 types of influences that impact your decisions.

Habits Habits = what one is accustomed to doing
Examples: doing/not doing drugs, being/not being honest, following through/not following through with responsibilities

Emotions Emotions = the way in which feelings, mental perceptions and reactions are expressed Examples: smiling because you’re happy, crying because you’re sad

Media Media = ways in which impressions, ideas and information is conveyed; Examples: TV, music, movies, print, etc.

Faith Faith = beliefs (likely spiritual in nature) which may or may not stem from a religion Examples: choosing not to smoke or drink for religious, rather than health reasons

Peers Peers = other people, approximately the same age, that one comes in contact with Examples: friends, classmates and teammates

Esteem Esteem = the way one values (high esteem) or devalues (low esteem) them self Example: Choosing to try out for the school musical because you have a lot of confidence in your abilities (high esteem)

Family Family = relations, immediate and extended, living together or apart Example: Cheering for the same football team as the rest of your family members

Values Values = those things held in highest regard
Examples: learning, friendship, money, health, peace, etc.
