4 The significance of historical events!
Significance: The impact that event had in the SHORT TERM (immediately) and in the long term (for lots of years after) Significance I know that some events can have an impact on the past and on our lives today I can describe how some events can have an impact on the past and I can give reasons why some some events can have an impact on the past and on our lives today I can explain in detail why some events can have an impact on the past and on our lives today I can analyse a range of reasons why some events have had more of an impact on the past and us today than other events LEVEL 3 4 5 6 7

5 Parliament in Britain and Spain today!
Significance: The impact that event had in the SHORT TERM (immediately) and in the long term (for lots of years after) Short term Changed Same as before Long term England became a republic (a country without a King!) Oliver Cromwell was in charge! He was a Puritan and he banned Christmas for being too much fun! Trade improved and war was over! When parliament disagreed with Cromwell he shut it down! Cromwell grew greedy for power Many Catholics were killed under Cromwell In 1660 Charles' son Charles II became King and the monarchy was restored Charles II promised to work better with parliament in order to run the country Charles promised to call parliament every 3 years but there was no rule put in place for this! The Parliament in Britain and Spain today! We have a monarchy today and the role is hereditary (handed down from parents to child)
