others have odd shifts and number of hours
if you work more than a regular number of hours a week, it is called overtime
Over time is often paid as time and a half
Statutory holidays often get double time

5. Sasha gets paid double time and a half when she works over 6 hours
Sasha gets paid double time and a half when she works over 6 hours. If her normal wage is $12.65 per hour, and she just worked a 10 hour day, how much did she earn that day?

6. Drake works in a road construction crew
Drake works in a road construction crew. His regular work week is 40 hours. During the busy season, he often works overtime. For overtime Monday to Friday he earns time and a half. If he works Saturday he earns double time and a half. How much will he earn that week if he works 46 hours during the week, and 7 hours on Saturday?

7. If you get paid by commission, it is on top of what you normally get paid. It is usually a percent of your sales.
Kaleb is a truck salesman. When he sells a truck he earns 5% of the sale price. The truck he just sold was $63,000. How much did he just earn in commission?

8. Norman is an electrician who is paid a normal rate of $17. 40 per hour
Norman is an electrician who is paid a normal rate of $17.40 per hour. When Norman works at heights he is paid an additional $1.35 per hour. Calculate Norman’s wage in a week where he works 36 hours, 13 of which are at heights.
