What to look for….. For Proteins look for NH2 and COOH, the test will not have an “R” For Carbohydrates look for a bunch of OH For Lipids look for long hydrocarbon chains (a bunch of carbons surrounded by hydrogens) For Nucleic Acids look for the 3 parts (a ring sugar, a part that has nitrogen, and a part that has phosphorus) THE ANSWERS TO EACH IMAGE ARE IN THE “NOTES” AT THE BOTTOM OF EACH SLIDE WHEN IT IS NOT IN PRESENTATION MODE.
