1 This is Jeopardy Cell Reproduction To make this game…
First think of five review categories and five questions for each category. Add the categories to the top of the table in slide 2. Place your questions according to the categories into the slides. For example…C1-200 is the question for Category 1 worth 200 points. C5-400 is the question for Category 5 worth 400 points. Place a final jeopardy question in the Final Jeopardy box. Test your slide show. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at or

2 Category No. 1 Category No. 2 Category No. 3 Category No. 4 No. 5 100
200 300 400 500 To play the game. Divide you class into teams. If you have bells or some other way of emulating ringing in your answers, knock yourself out! The contestant chooses a category and a point value. Click on their choice and you will advance to the associated slide. Click on the slide to reveal the answer. Once the contestant has stated the question click on the slide again to reveal the question. Click BACK to return to the Categories Slide. The first contestant from team 1 goes first then I alternate to the next team. Final Jeopardy

3 C1-100-The answer is… The process by which a cell divides into 2 daughter cells. Cytokinesis Back

4 C1-200-The answer is… The structure that holds chromatids together
centromere Back

5 C1-300-The answer is… Prophase The nucleus disappears in this phase
Back

6 C1-400-The answer is… This is the last phase of mitosis Telophase Back

7 C1-500-The answer is… What are the phases of mitosis in the proper order? Prophase, metaphase, anaphase, telophase Back

8 C2-100-The answer is… metaphase
The chromosomes line up along the middle of the cell in this phase. metaphase Back

9 C2-200-The answer is… Each half of a chromosome is called a… chromatid
Back

10 C2-300-The answer is… What is the function of the spindle fibers?
To separate the chromosomes Back

11 C2-400-The answer is… During mitosis, a cell that has 54 chromosomes will produce daughter cells with ______ chromosomes. 54 Back

12 C2-500-The answer is… Meiosis This is the process that forms gametes.
Back

13 C3-100-The answer is… This process occurs in meiosis and mixes up the genetic information. Crossing over Back

14 C3-200-The answer is… Meiosis forms _____ new cells. 4 Back

15 C3-300-The answer is… The cells spend the majority of their lives in this phase. Interphase Back

16 C3-400-The answer is… Body cells are also called this. Somatic cells
Back

17 C3-500-The answer is… This is the function of mitosis.
To produce cells for growth and repair Back

18 C4-100-The answer is… An organism with 64 autosomes will make a sex cell with _____ chromosomes. 33 Back

19 C4-200-The answer is… centrioles
These structures create the mitotic spindle in animal cells. centrioles Back

20 C4-300-The answer is… DNA is called this during Interphase chromatin
Back

21 C4-400-The answer is… The nucleus reforms in this phase telophase Back

22 C4-500-The answer is… Chromosomes separate and move to the sides of the cell in this phase. anaphase Back

23 C5-100-The answer is… Cells grow and prepare to divide in these phases
G1 - grow G2 – prepare to divide Back

24 C5-200-The answer is… This is the splitting of the cytoplasm.
cytokinesis Back

25 C5-300-The answer is… The cell cycle.
Interphase, Mitosis, and Cytokinesis make up this. The cell cycle. Back

26 C5-400-The answer is… DNA replicates during this phase. S Phase Back

27 C6-500-The answer is… This is the purpose of meiosis
To create haploid cells for reproduction Back

28 Final Jeopardy List five ways in which Mitosis and Meiosis are different. 2 cells vs. 4 cells Diploid vs. Haploid Sex cells vs. Somatic cells Identical to parent, different than parent One cell division vs. two cell divisions Back End Game
