2. Main ideas To view the different stages of yeast cells
To view haploid and diploid cells
To see the effect of different food mediums on yeast cells
To see how cells mate and separate.
To examine the differences of haploid and diploid structures.

3. Learning gained from lab
I learned how to distinguish between the different types of cells { haploid/diploid}. I also learned about what different chemicals in food sources do to yeast. I learned how to determine what strain of yeast it is just by culturing it on different types of yeast mediums. For example I learned that mv agar kills haploid strains of yeast but not diploid strains.
