2. 5.3B - Comparing Fractions
1st you have to remember your signs
< > =
Less
Then
Greater
Then
Equal To

3. If only 2 fractions… Use cross multiplying, it is the easiest way! 1 2
Multiply the TOP of the 1st fraction with the BOTTOM of the 2nd fraction 1 2 3 2 3

4. This works for mixed numbers too!
Look at the WHOLE numbers first!
Since they are the same…IGNORE them! 1 2 6 3 6 = 6

5. Ordering fractions…
This is the TOUGH one! You must find the LCD (the Least Common Denominator!)
My advice…concentrate on the BIGGEST number first! Can all the numbers turn into 15? If YES, that is your LCD! 

6. Now make them equivalent…

7. A Great hint for ordering fractions
