3. An Oligarchy is rule by a small group.
Collectivism is the ownership of the means of production (capital) by the people.
Bourgeoisie – Marxist term for “property owners”/those who owned the means of production
Proletariat – Marxist term for those were were “property- less,” or for those who sell their labor as a means to survive
Socialism – Theory in which means of production is owned by the people (government), and in which resources are re- distributed to the general population
Marxism: theorizes that the working class will overthrow the ruling class and establish a “class-less” society (a form of socialism)
