Is “300” accurate? Xerxes and Leonidas historically never met in person and Xerxes does not look or think of himself as highly as the scene suggests however there are important historical references made during this scene. Xerxes: “I would gladly kill half my own men for victory.” Leonidas: “And I would die for any one of mine.” How does this demonstrate the differences in their leadership? Leonidas: “Clearly you don’t know our women. I might as well have marched them up here judging by what I’ve seen…” What does Leonidas imply about Spartan women?
