Warm-Up: Night and Day Referring to Chapters 44-47, how does Pi feels during each of these times/weather conditions? What do they represent? Night: Ch. 44 Sunrise: Ch. 45 Cloudy Skies: Ch. 46 Noon: Ch. 47

Plot Structure Exposition: Sets up setting, characters and conflict
Rising Action: The events of the story leading up to the climax. This develops the conflict. Climax: Turning point, highest point of action, point when the conflict must be resolved, for better or worse. Resolution: Wraps up loose ends, explains how conflict is resolved.

6 Panel Comic Project You will have a choice between 3 stories from Odysseus’ journey. Listen closely as Ms. Gillette summarizes them. Choose one of the stories. Read it carefully, and outline it like so: Exposition d. Rising Action 3 Rising Action 1 e. Climax Rising Action 2 f. Resolution Show Ms. Gillette your outline, and receive a six-panel comic blank. Illustrate your story, using each part of your outline as one panel.
