French and Georgian

2 French Style Homes/Architecture
Began in France around the 1600’s during rein of Louis XIV. In 1920 the style came over to America after soldiers returned home from World War 1. Most homes have 2 stories, with high ceilings and open floor plans. Mainly located in the French countryside. Most of the design elements focus on form. Main materials are stone, plaster and wood.

Came around in the 18th century ( ) Most homes and buildings have at least 2 stories. Located in the southern parts of the United States Most design elements focus on symmetry Main materials were stone, wood (or stucco), and brick
