2. Following the Civil War, 3 Major changes were made to the Constitution
Following the Civil War, 3 Major changes were made to the Constitution. During the Reconstruction era, the 13th, 14th and 15th Amendments were passed which significantly changed America.
Read the 3 amendments. For each one do the following-
Explain (in detail) what it does (a rewrite is probably the best way… put it in easily understood terms)
Explain how it impacted America at that time
Describe what long term effect it had on our history, and clearly explain if it has been a factor in our history beyond its initial impact (for example, has it been used to expand causes later? A good way to find out is to research laws and Supreme Court rulings into the 20th and 21st Centuries)
