Vocabulary Tissue Group of cells working together Organ Cell membrane
Selectively Permeable Group of cells working together Group of tissue working together Selectively permeable boundary around cell, Protects, regulates movement of molecules Term used to describe a cell membranes ability to allow small molecules cross and block larger molecules from passing through

Iodine in Beaker/Starch in Cell Model
In the Diffusion lab we put Iodine in a beaker and a mixture of cornstarch and water inside a plastic bag. The bag we placed in the Iodine. In 24 hours we saw the inside of the bag turned BLACKISH PURPLE. Explain why this happened. ______________________________________________ The very small iodine and water molecules diffused from the beaker into the baggie. Since iodine is an indicator of starch, it reacted with the starch in the baggie, changing its color to bluish-black color.
