Step 3 - grading Evaluate the paper according to the rubric
Provide a justification/explanation for each scoring (why did you give these scores? Sticky note 1: scores and explanation Sticky note 2: one compliment and one critique Turn the paper in to me

Rubric cheat sheet Purpose, Focus, Organization:
4 – engaging hook, strong claim, focused paragraphs, counterclaim acknowledged and refuted, strong conclusion 1 – no counterclaim, stance unclear, ideas don’t flow smoothly, too short Evidence & Elaboration: 4 – both sources used, cited properly, quotes embedded and fully explained, specific and detailed 1 – little, confusing, or inaccurate evidence, only used 1 or no sources to back up ideas Conventions: 2 – very few errors 1 – some errors 0 – errors impede understanding Sticky Note #1- Score and explanation PFO: EE: C: Sticky Note #2 One compliment One critique

Read your paper from start to finish Notice your highlights Read your scoring and comments Look over the rubric again On the orange sticky note, argue what you believe your score should be. You may agree or disagree with your peer’s evaluation.
