6 Weathering happens when wind and water break down rock into smaller pieces.
Weathering can happen when water freeze in the cracks of rocks. When the water freezes, it takes up more space. It makes the cracks bigger. It can break the rock into pieces.

8 Erosion happens when wind or moving water move sand and small rocks, or pebbles.
This movement can cause more weathering and erosion. It changes the shapes of rocks.

12 Earthquakes An earthquake is a shaking of Earth’s surface. It can cause a land to fall or rise. An earthquake may form lakes or cause mudslides. If an earthquake happens in the ocean, it can cause a huge wave to form.
