In Memory Richard Vernon “Skip” Gibson (Class of 1958) Richard Vernon "Skip" Gibson, age 69, formerly of Maple Bluff, passed peacefully at his home in North Oaks, Minn., following a brief battle with a brain tumor. He was born Aug. 9, 1940, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to Vernon D. and Sarah Catherine (Carns). Skip graduated from Ohio State University and worked as vice president and treasurer of the Central Trust Company in Cincinnati before moving to Madison in 1975, to serve as investment director for the State of Wisconsin Investment Board. After his retirement, he co-founded Olympic and Great Dane Development companies. Skip was active in Cursillo at Grace Episcopal Church, Madison, served as warden and deacon at Christ Presbyterian, Madison, and currently was a member of First Presbyterian, White Bear Lake, Minn. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Ann Anderson Gibson; three children, Elizabeth (Charles) Cliffe, Andrew (Tracey) Gibson and Sarah (John) Eimerman; seven grandchildren, Anna and Sam Cliffe, Sarah and Richard Gibson, and Jack, Beth and Grace Eimerman; two nephews and one niece; brother and sisters-in-law; a brother, David Gibson; and a host of dear friends.
