Objective Lens RED- Scanning Objective Lens YELLOW- Low Power Lens
Use the coarse adjustment knob while viewing under this lens ONLY YELLOW- Low Power Lens BLUE- High Power Lens *If you lose your image while using the low/high power lens, go back to the scanning objective lens and start over. Image belongs to David B. Fauser, Ph.D.

Calculating the Power of Magnification
Ocular lens= 10X Scanning Objective Lens= 4X Low Power Lens= 10X High Power Lens= 40X ocular lens x objective lens= total power of magnification (10X) x (4X)= 40X (10X) x (10X)= 100X (10X) x (40X)= 400X

Lets Review! Click on the best answer:
What is the power of magnification of the high power lens? Which piece controls the amount of light that passes through? When is it okay to use the coarse adjustment knob? A. When using the ocular lens 4X Coarse adjustment knob 10X Ocular lens B. When using the scanning objective lens 40X Diaphragm C. Always
