3. Generalize
A generalization is a broad statement that can apply to many examples
Often contain broad words such as most, all, never, often, or many
Generalizations may be valid (true in most cases) or faulty (false in many cases)
To be valid, a generalization must be supported by examples and by sound reasoning

4. Generalization Examples:
Most basketball players are at least six feet tall.
Valid or faulty?
All basketball players are better athletes than football players.

5. Visualize Good readers visualize, or create mental images
Picturing themselves seeing, hearing, feeling, tasting, and smelling things and events in the text

6. Tested Vocabulary: confidently fulfill dismounted permission
distressed
repay
flourish
vigorously

7. Troublesome Verbs:
Some pairs of verbs are troublesome verbs because they look alike or have similar meanings
Ex: sit, sat
Ex: teach, taught
