3. What is UNICEF Kid Power?
Globally, an estimated 16 million children suffer from severe acute malnutrition. In the United States, one in four children are physically inactive
UNICEF Kid Power is a growing movement of kids and families working to end global malnutrition one step at a time. With their UNICEF Kid Power App or Band, kids transform their physical activity into lifesaving nutrition.

4. How it works?
By wearing the UNICEF Kid Power Band, kids track their daily activity level & transmit that information to an app. UNICEF Kid Power encourages children to earn five points a day, the equivalent of the daily 12,000-step goal of activity recommended by the National Institutes of Health.
Every 25 points earned unlocks one packet of Ready-to-Use Therapeutic Food (RUTF), which UNICEF delivers to severely malnourished children.

5. Nutrition
UNICEF distributed 750,000 RUTF packets in Rwanda and treated 5,000 children in At the Mahama refugee camp in the Eastern Province, malnourished refugee children from Burundi rely on RUTF to stay alive. Undernutrition contributes to nearly half of all deaths in children under five, and is widespread in Asia and Africa.
