The water cycle By Jenna Tabor

The process of the water cycle
The water cycle starts with evaporation. Evaporation is the process of witch water changes from a liquid to a gas as water vapor. Condensation is the change of gas to a liquid. Precipitation is when the water in the clouds fall to earths surface.

solid Has a definate shape. A block is an example of a solid.

liquid Is something that takes the shape of the container it is in.
Water is and example of a liquid.

gas Has no definate shape. Oxygen is an example of a gas.

Forms of precipitation
Sleet rain Snow hail

Stratus clouds Usually bring fair weather

Cumulus clouds Usually bring fair weather

Cumulonimbus clouds Bring thunderstorms!!

Climate and weather The climate is the average temperature over a long period of time. Weather is the temperature within a short period of time. In july it is hot. In december it is cold.

thermometer A thermometer measures the temperature outside.

Rain guage A rain guage measures the amount of precipitation.

barameter Measures air pressure.

Wind vane Measures wind direction.

anemometer Measures wind speed

front Is a place where two air masses meet.

What we learned: We learned the process of the water cycle and what a solid, liquid, and a gas is. We also learned the forms of precipitation and the 3 different clouds along with climate and weather. We also learned weather measuring tools. We learned what a front is. My favorite part was the climate and weather from this unit.
