Socratic Seminar Reflections
2
Your Reflections "I didn't talk much because I have a hard time elaborating on poems" "I still need help participating in these seminars because I get nervous" "I was very respectful to others by listening and not talking to my neighbors" "I often eluded to and directly referenced the text" "I have a lot to add but I don't feel comfortable talking in front of large groups" "I was listening but not talking" "It was hard to speak up when a lot of others were in a conversation" "I didn't really understand what everyone was saying" "I might try and speak up next time but I am a better listener" "I think I could have reviewed more for this" "I don't like talking in front of people"

My Reflection While I still believe that you all worked really hard on this seminar, after reading your exit tickets I wanted to write and share a reflection of my own. Every single class is different, different group of students and different people within that group. For our next Socratic seminar, I will break you up into small groups where you can have a chance to share your thoughts and opinions, ask clarifying questions and feel comfortable enough to participate in the conversation. Besides just having you read and ask questions and answer questions, I will work with you all to unpack the text and generate notes and reflections that you have on the text. I think that working to just read and annotate was not specific enough. In the future we will prepare specifically for our seminar.
