Using Map Symbols Area Symbols – use colours to represent large features, such as green for parks or forests, and blue for a lake. Forest Lake

Using Map Symbols Point Symbols – are simple pictures or icons that show the location of places or services, including hospitals, airports, houses, and schools. Tourist Information Airport

Seatwork Take out a lined sheet of paper. Put your name on it.
Complete questions 1, 2 a,b,c,d and 3 a,b on p. 9 in the textbook. Hand in your work when it is completed. Complete Questions 13 a) & b) found on p. 10 in the textbook. Quietly double check your answers with a classmate when you are done!
