Distance and Displacement
By: dafne amador & Terry bauman
2
Distance Distance is the length of a path between two points.
When object moves in a straight line, the distance is the length of the connecting the object's staring point and end points . The measuring unit for distance meter (m), kilometers (km), and centimeters (cm).
3
Displacement Displacement is the direction from the starting point and the length of a straight line from the starting point to the ending point. Sometimes use when giving directions. Displacement is example of vector
4
Vector Vector is quantity that has a direction and magnitude
Magnitude can be size, length, or amount Arrows on a map or graph are represent as vector The vector of two or more vector is called resultant vector
5
Frame of Reference Frame of reference is a system of object that are not moving with respect to one another. Frame of reference is need to describe motion accurately and completely. Relative motion is movement in the relation to a frame of reference.
