1 The Effects of Precipitation on Corn Yields
Grasslands (Basic) Note: This template is optimized for PowerPoint 2010 and uses a video background. If used in PowerPoint 2007, video elements will play, but all content will be covered by video background when in slideshow. If used in PowerPoint 2003, video will not play, but the poster frame of the videos will remain in place as a static image. The video: Plays automatically after each slide transition. Is 30 seconds long. Seamlessly loops for infinite playback. To add slides or change layout, do the following: To add a new slide, on the Home tab, in the Slides group, click the arrow under New Slide, then click under Motion Background Theme select the desired layout. To change the layout of an existing slide, on the Home tab, in the Slides group, click Layout, then select the desired layout. This template uses the “Pushpin” Theme Font. To access or change the Theme Font, do the following: On the View tab in the Master Views group, select Slide Master. In the Slide Master view, select slide 1 (the Master Slide for Master Layouts that use the video background). On the Slide Master tab, in the Edit Theme group, click Fonts, and then select new theme fonts. Using animated elements: Any animated element will begin after the slide transition and the background video has started.

2 Hypothesis Corn Yields are affected by the amount of precipitation.
Variable Factors may have an affect on corn yields. Insufficient precipitation may lead to lower corn yields.

3 Experiment Process Form hypothesis Decide contributing factors
Plot location of experiment Observe plot and corn crop in plot Research data from previous years in each field Research average precipitation in Bates Co. for each of those years Make conclusion based on data

4 Factors Controlled Variable Seed Variety Fertilizer Soil Type
Precipitation Intervals of Precipitation Temperatures Planting Dates Harvesting Dates insects

5 Corn Field North Field: T39N-R29W-S30- SE1/8 (80 Acres)
Zumbrunnen Field: T39N- R30W-S34-NE1/4 of the SE1/4 (40 Acres) Sum of All Fields: T39: R29, R30

6 Corn Yields

7 Good and Bad Good Corn Cob Bad Corn Cob

8 Precipitation

9 Corn Yields and Total Precipitation

10 Conclusions Derived from Data
Corn Yields are affected by the amount of precipitation. Insufficient precipitation does lead to lower corn yields. Variable factors do have affect on corn yields. Additional Conclusion: Excess precipitation also leads to lower corn yields.

11 Works Cited National Agricultural Statistics Service by State/Missouri/Publications/Weather/ Data/ ducts/corn/Pages/drought.aspx

12 Seed Variety Proved to produce higher yields during drought than  Pioneer Optimum AQUAmax corn hybrids

13 Fertilizer Potash- form of potassium Phosphate- form of phosphorus
Anhydrous Ammonia- form of nitrate
