Jim Burke’s Memoir: “IDEA CHUNK”
Summarize/paraphrase: Jim Burke is showing the reader his current failing situation in school and how he doesn’t seem to care because he is lounging by the pool with his friends. Agree/Disagree: Jim Burke’s behavior is highly unacceptable and showcases his immaturity and neglect for his education. Support: -Experience: Almost failing Senior year of high school myself, I believe…. -Observation: Most people who neglect their education from a young age will not…. -Reading: Jim Burke obviously does not care for his education because instead of doing his work, he is lounging by the pool with his friends. Or Jim Burke states “that he decided not to do his latest assignment” which shows how he cares very little for his education.
