2 Some negatives are also modifiers
Negatives are words that mean “no” or “not”. You can contract “not” to “n’t” when it is used with a verb Did not  didn’t Not, never, nowhere, barely, hardly, scarcely

3 Remember to avoid double negatives
A double negative is the incorrect use of two negatives for one idea. I don’t scarcely use my old typewriter anymore. (incorrect) The typewriter isn’t as fast as no computer. (incorrect) To avoid double negatives, substitute positive words for negative ones. Neither  either Nothing  anything Nowhere  anywhere
