Atoms = basic building blocks of matter that make up everything around us.
Parts of an atom:
PROTON = positively charged part of the atom, live in the NUCLEUS
NEUTRON = NO charge, lives in the NUCLEUS
ELECTRON =negatively charged, lives on the OUTSIDE of the nucleus.
3) Regions of the atom:
NUCLEUS = CENTER of the atom. The nucleus is tiny but very heavy.
ELECTRON SHELLS- on the outside of the atom. The most volume (space).
