The Treaty of Greenville- It was formulated after the battle of Fallen Timbers. The battle was between the U.S. and the shawnee natives. The U.S. gained rights to the natives’ land.

Jays treaty- It forced the british troops to withdraw from the U.S. as long as America limited bargains with France during the French and British fighting.

The treaty was criticized because it did not end impressment and it causes tension between America and France.

The Treaty of San Lorenzo- (Also known as Pinckney's Treaty) America obtained unrestricted, duty free access to the Mississippi river. Spain dismantled all forts past the 31st parallel, and discouraged native rebellions against the white settlers.

Federalist and Democratic- Republican rivalries come about as a result of the French revolution. Federalists were pro-monarchy because the monarchy helped colonists during the American Revolution. Democratic- Republicans supported the rebels and hoped a republic like the U.S. would be set up in France.

The French Crisis of worsened relations between the U. S. and France. The X, Y,Z Affair- France would not agree to peace talks unless America met certain demands. A bribe of 250,000 dollars and a loan of 12 million dollars. The Affair caused the U.S. to militarize because of high tension with France.
