1. Tuesday, September 5th Check this board EVERY DAY
Welcome to 7th Grade World Studies (Geography)
Please find a seat and be ready for class to begin (We will be getting a seating chart shortly)
Please take a copy of the 7th Grade World Studies syllabus and a piece of plain white paper
When class begins I will instruct you what to do with the white paper as I take attendance.

2. Classroom Discipline Policy
Reminder 1 – First offense, this is to help you identify that your current behavior is unacceptable.
Reminder 2 – Second offense, this means your behavior still needs to change and will result in you filling out a reminder 2 form. Two reminder 2 forms will result in an after school detention
Reminder 3 – Third offense, this results in an office referral and will require you to call your parents to inform them of your behavior

3. Absence Policy
When you are absent the first thing you need to do is check the Daily Agenda Binder
After you have checked the Daily Agenda Binder check the appropriate hour bin to get copies of any missing assignments
Ask three friends what we did if you are having trouble understanding what was done
If you are still struggling to understand what was done come see me at this point

4. Wednesday, September 6th
Take a Student Interest Inventory form from the front table
We will be filling these out during the hour
Make sure you have your name tag out (I need help still!)
If you have a completed inquiry form please place it in the appropriate hour basket
Fill in Agenda with:
Review rules and procedures
Create note cards
Setting Academic Goals
CNN Student News? (If Time)

5. Classroom Rules Come to class prepared every day!
This includes having all materials necessary for class, reading the board, and sitting down in your seat ready to learn at the beginning of the class period.
During instruction your attention needs to be on the speaker
You should be ready to participate and should show the teacher eye contact
Make sure you are not getting out of your seat during that time and you should also show eye contact
During work time you need to use your time wisely and you need to make sure you are working on materials only for this class
Unless stated you should be working independently and you need to remain in your seat

Remember: The classroom is a learning environment (it is different than the hallway!)

7. Thursday, September 7th!
Take a copy of the papers from the front table
Binder Table of Contents
Binder Rubric
2 pieces of lined paper
Ancient World Vocabulary List
I will be explaining how to begin your binder today
Remember: Organization is important and this will end up being a graded assignment!
Fill in your agenda with:
Introduce Binders
Finish Note Cards
CNN Student News (if time)

8. Friday, September 8th!
Today we will be taking the World Studies 7 Pretest Common Assessment
After you are completed with the Pretest I want you to think of What History is to you. You can draw it in a picture you can write a paragraph about it.
Put your name on it and turn it into the world studies basket.
