3. How to start the response
1. Start the response by introducing both the poems.
Both “If” by Rudyard Kipling and “Fifteen” by William Stafford show how to become a man.
Growing up in a good way is shown by both Stafford in “Fifteen” and Kipling in “If.”

4. Answer the question
Both poems demonstrate the theme _____________________________________

Look at the similarities column.
Choose at least three of the categories which can be related to the common theme.
State in your introduction those categories and that the poets use them to build the theme.
