4 What is kinesiology? the systematic study of the physiological, psychological, and sociological aspects of human movement and how it can be optimized. Kinesiology makes “Healthy Active Living” a top priority.

34 Guiding Questions How can individuals of varying ages and abilities gain and maintain competence in movement? Why is confidence in movement an important component of physical literacy? Why might someone lack the confidence to move? What are the implications for individuals who do not have confidence in their ability to move? Why is it important to be able to move in a wide variety of environments in Canada? How does being physically literate benefit the whole person? Think of all the possible benefits of being physically literate. Of what importance is physical literacy to Canada’s Long-Term Athlete Development (LTAD) model? What impact does physical literacy have upon you? Your school? Your community? Your nation?
