3 COMMITTEE CHARGE Develop a 5 year recommendation on potential boundary changes the District should make in order to deal with the continued growth in our eastern community. This should include potential adjustments in the boundaries for Dougherty, Green, and Kolb. Communication timelines for parents should also be developed. Develop a 5 year recommendation for the Amador Elementary boundaries and a timeline for communicating them to parents. Educational Services, May 27, 2014

4 The Board adopted capacity for elementary schools of 650 +/- 100 * Recently developed Facilities Program Standards (DRAFT) should be utilized Including Developmental Kindergarten Special Education Physical Education space Music / Art space Technology space Library Capacity Etc. Safety of students is essential Elementary students attend no more than two (2) schools during their K-5 years ASSUMPTIONS Educational Services, May 27, 2014

5 ASSUMPTIONS Siblings should be kept together where ever possible Natural street boundaries should be used where ever possible Driving distance should be a consideration where possible Capacities should be reviewed with class size at contract limits (K-3 – 28) A Neighborhood School concept should be a consideration where possible Changes should be grandfathered where possible (See Green to Kolb Decision) School choice – open enrollment will remain The boundaries should be flexible with a focus on the next 5 years Educational Services, May 27, 2014
