3 Printmaking Printmaking
The activity or occupation of making pictures or designs by printing them from specially prepared plates or blocks.

4 Rubber band printing Wrap the rubber bands around the card board
Using the Brayer (roller) on the Plexiglass roll out some ink onto the roller Roll the ink from the Brayer (roller) onto your rubber banded cardboard. Place a piece of paper onto the inked board and rub the back of the paper. Do this until the entire paper is covered in lines of ink.

5 Suminagashi Your bucket should be filled with cold water.
Put 1 drop of each color of ink into the plastic container Using 1 paint brush per color alternate touching the surface of the water with the ink covered paint brushes. Once done place your paper onto the water so it lifts up the ink. Let dry.

6 Pulled string art Place a string into the ink provided
Using a pallet knife push the string in while still holding one end so you can get it out. Place the string into a pattern onto your paper Place a second piece of paper onto the string Place a book onto the papers and hold down while you pull on the string.

7 Reflection Now on a separate piece of paper I want you to reflect on today. What was your favorite technique today? Why? Was there anything that was hard for you? What do you think of printmaking so far? These responses will be your ticket out of class so be prepared to hand them to me.
