1 Warm Up 9/4/18

2 Warm Up! : Character Traits
Open to your Classwork section and answer the following: What do you think is a character trait? What’s the difference between a Direct and Indirect Character Trait? 5 Minutes!

3 Turn to your Vocabulary Section!
Character Traits – Qualities/adjectives; physical, but mainly behavioral that describe how a character acts. Examples: Big, tall, angry, happy, hilarious.

4 Turn to your Vocabulary Section!
Direct Character Traits – Traits that are literally given to us by the character or author. “Charlie was happy today” “I am so angry!”

5 Turn to your Vocabulary Section!
Indirect Character Traits – Traits we have to figure out or infer from the author, or the character’s actions. “Charlie came in stomping his feet.” We can infer from the narrator that Charlie must be angry. “I don’t want to go, and you can’t make me!” We can infer from Charlie that he’s angry.
