2. There are 2 easy steps to conjugate a regular –ar verb:
1. Drop the –ar ending (the stem is left)
2. Add the appropriate ending to match the subject.

3. -AR VERB ENDINGS: -o -amos -as -áis -a -an (yo) (nosotros) (tú)

(ella)
(Ustedes)
(ellos)
(ellas) -o
-amos
-as

-an

4. Match the ending with ______ or ____ is doing the action of the verb.
who
what
 If the subject is tú, what is the verb ending?
-as

5. The 6 different verb endings are used for only specific subjects; therefore, the subject is not always needed.
Por ejemplo: 1. 2.
Hablo = I talk
Hablas = you (i) talk

6. You must use the subject before the verb if:1. 2.
The subject is unclear.
(habla=he/she talks OR you talk)
(hablan)=they/you all talk)
You want to emphasize the subject. (Ella habla pero él no habla.)
