4. Dissociative Amnesia is normally induced by a severely traumatic life event such as, war, physical abuse, and even emotional abuse.
There also may be a genetic link, due to the fact that quite often those who are diagnosed with dissociative amnesia usually have close relatives with the disorder as well.

5. The goal of treatment is to relieve symptoms and eventually fully recover any lost memory.
Yet, there is no one sure fire way to treat and solve this disorder so treatments include psychotherapy
