Objective: To map out narrative story arcs and add details to the research paper.
Question: What are important elements in a narrative that grab the reader’s attention?

5. Finish Your In-Class Rough Draft
Write your rough draft on this piece of paper
Write your scene setting of where your subject is narrating the scene from (From Setting The Scene-Independent Research on 241) Think of this as a flashback, if your scene setting is different from your narration. You do not have to use ALL of the scene settings; pick and choose the ones that you want to use.
Put narrations from Five Step Process: Independent Research (Page 237) into chronological order.
Add dialogue from Adding Dialogue: Independent Research (Page 242) in between different sections of the narrations.
Add more details, dialogue, and/or narrative where needed.

We will first be constructing a story map for Annie Jump Cannon’s personal journey, then you will do one for your own research suject.
