Don't use I, my or contractions The point of in text quotes is to show support for your position from someone smarter and more respected than you. Talking in the first person only gives you limited thoughts, but if you talk in third person, and add support from people with more knowledge, it gives your argument more weight and credibility Introductions and conclusions were often too brief - most included a "road map", but not much analysis

Many students didn’t summarize their paragraphs and show how the point they are proving ties to their overall thesis Only include information that helps prove your point. If it doesn't fit, don't include it Thesis stated at the beginning or in the middle of the intro and not at the end.
