Peace Conference Did not include the Central Powers
Did not include Russia (b/c it was now under communist rule) “Big Four” were in charge of treaty Wilson gave up many of his fourteen points in return for est. the League of Nations

Treaty of Versailles Nine new countries, and new boundaries for many others Break up Ottoman Empire Germany barred from having army Return the region of Alsace-Lorraine to FR pay $33 Billion to Allies caused many problems later on that created WWII humiliate Germany (war-guilt clause) impossible for Germany to pay back debt b/c loss of territory Russia loses more land than Germany

American Response to Treaty
Many are not happy too harsh on Germany doesn’t solve any problems Senate does not ratify the treaty Create separate treaty w/ Germany Never becomes member of League of Nations
