What is a transverse wave? 2) What are features of transverse waves? A Transverse wave is a type of wave that moves up and down (perpendicular) to the direction the energy travels. Perpendicular – at a right (90 degree) angle T 2. Amplitude: the distance the wave oscillates (goes up/down) from its resting position. The more the wave oscillates, the more energy it carries.
