Mirrors: Usually a layer of glass coated with a thin layer of silver and a layer of opaque paint. To produce images, they must be very smooth (regular reflection) and have a high reflectance. Reflectance: The percentage of light reflected by a surface. A typical mirror reflects ~ 70-75% of the incident light. Optical mirrors (used in telescopes) reflect about 95% of the incident light. Types of Mirrors: Plane, Concave, and Convex
