Why had tourism dropped in Saipan?

4. What did I do to answer these questions?
I looked for several articles using keywords like Saipan and drop in economy.
I created a survey.
I interviewed someone who owned a business in the past.

5. Survey I used survey monkey to create my survey.
I used various questions like short answers, yes or no questions and so on.
The survey was sent to others through .
10 people responded to my survey.
I think the questions I asked were good because it asked for the respondent's opinion, which in turn gave me new insight for my research.

6. interview
I interviewed someone who used to own a business in the past. She told me about her business and how the decline in tourism affected her business.

7. Findings
One thing I discovered is that all the problems that caused Saipan’s economy and tourism to drop were related to one another.
The interview showed the effects of the closing of the airline had on local businesses.
All events were related to one another. Closing of the airline because of lawsuit on Nikko which also caused La Fiesta to close.
Closure of these caused tourism rates to drop and locally owned businesses effected.

8. How findings answered my questions
Findings answered my question on why tourism dropped.
Findings showed how the tourism and economy dropping in relationship of problems occurring in Saipan.
Literature showed other factors like Asian country economy dropping.
Interview explained how it effected locals.
The drop in tourism led to the closure of many local businesses.

9. For my research , there was problems I faced because I could not find the literature I needed. This caused me to waste my time and I think that if I had just used better keywords or looked harder, I might have done better in research. If I could redo this research, I would focus on more primary sources like going around all areas of Saipan to find information.

10. Describe what you learned about the topic?
I learned from this topic that there were many other factors to why Saipan’s tourism dropped. We should not blame the closing of the garment factory for the drop in the economy.
I learned through research that tourism could have dropped to the airline, incident but it could also be because of the economy drop in Asian countries.
