2. What is a personal narrative?
A narrative is a story that:
Entertains
Has events
Uses connecting words as needed
Includes dialogue between characters
A personal narrative is a personal story that does all of those same things.

3. Where can we find inspiration?
Inspiration for writing a personal narrative can be found all around you!
Think about:
people
pets/animals
events

4. 3 Strategies:
Think of a person who matters to you, then list clear small moments you remember with him or her.
Think of an animal/pet that matters to you, then list clear small moments you remember with him or her.
Think of an event that was important to you, then list clear small moments that stood out from that time.

5. Another Source of Inspiration
Did you know that you can even be inspired by a photograph? It’s true!
Just look at your photograph and consider the following:
What is going on in that picture?
You might want to write about that moment or event.
Who are the people in that picture?
You might want to write about the people in the picture.
Where was the picture taken?
You might want to write about that place.
What was going on “behind the scenes”?
You might want to write about what else was happening at that point in time.
