4 Daily Agenda: -20 minutes to finish “The World on the Turtle’s Back” questions & turn them in! (1/2 credit tomorrow only) -Issue textbooks. . . Don’t lose these! They’re over $65 to replace! Sign extra credit hall passes. Open-house tonight. . .

“Description of Rites” Due: Tuesday, 8/27 at the beginning of class Think about a ceremony that is familiar to you, such as graduation, wedding, or coming-of-age ceremony, and write a one page detailed description of it for someone who has never seen it before. Explain any symbolic actions, garments, or colors associated with the ceremony. Do include: imagery (choosy diction) , a variety of sentence structures, and specific details. Do not include: linking verbs, boring “filler” words.
