1 Learning outcomes All will have added at least 3 areas of relief to their mask All will begin to add their 1st layer of paper mache Most will understand why it is important to add the correct size strips of paper to create a strong smooth mask Some will complete at least one layer of strong smooth paper mache

3 Relief and paper mache instructions
Tear newspaper strips to the correct size, to big they will crease and create sharp edges, to small will take too long. Prepare many strips before beginning to add glue Dip the paper in the paste and wipe off the excess paste. Begin to apply it the areas of relief Mould and shape the newspaper strips to cover all the areas of relief Make sure that their are no points or sharp edges point out- papier mache should be as SMOOTH as possible

4 Connector Do’s Don’ts Take off your blazer and roll up sleeves
Let glue drip over the table Wipe off the extra glue before adding to mask Use really large squares of paper Smooth strips of paper down so they are moulded smoothly to the mask Prepare a pile of paper strips before you start adding papier mache
